Product Listing

Product listings on OTE are to be kept within the genre of this particular OTE Expo. The gift industry is a broadly diverse cross section of product types and and many industries may fall within the genre. We allow a wide spectrum of interpretation in regards to listing on the site and there are only a few parameters which will result in listings being rejected.

We will use fair judgement in determining if a product type does not fit and will be rejected. An obvious example would be a seller listing automotive internal engine parts on the site (which would be rejected) whereas that same seller may list automotive accessories which would not be rejected.

Your profile on OTE allows many opportunities for contact and directing buyers to your company and your company website. Though we do not allow certain products to be listed on OTE, we do allow your company description to describe your product offerings in as much detail as you like.

 

Other parameters used in rejecting product listings are as follows:

  • As mentioned above, products that fall obviously outside the Gift Industry genre will be rejected.
  • Illegal products are just that, illegal, and we will not allow any illegal activity including illegal product listing on the site
  • XXX Rated products. Even though we have an adult Group of categories, hardcore porn and XXX products will not be allowed on the site. We would prefer that any adult products on the site be represented as tamely as possible in photographs.
  • Live animals are not to be listed on the site. Pet accessories, but no pets, livestock, etc..
  • Copyright protected products are not to be listed on the site without having permission of the rights owner.
  • Hazardous materials are not permmitted on the site listings. No ammunition, fireworks, dangerous chemicals, or similar products.
  • Products that may be considered hate oriented are not permitted. This includes publications, printed tees and hats, novelties, souvenirs etc. that might have inciteful slogans or images.
  • Nature products that are on any banned, endangered or protected lists.
  • Pharmaceuticals are not allowed to be listed on the site. Medications, prescriptives, medical treatments, drugs are prohibited.


Certain listing will be allowed on the site, but may have certain practical restrictions:

  • Firearms, bows and arrows, knives and swords may be listed on the site, but sellers will be expected to follow all Federal and State laws and regulations in regards to licensing, registering and sales domestically and internationally. 
  • Alcohol - We expect sellers of wine, liquors and alcoholic products on the site to follow all laws and regulations effecting sales domestically and internationally.
  • Tobacco products may be listed on the site and sellers are expected to follow all laws and regulations in regards to domestic and international sales.
  • Products from countries barred from trade. All sellers and buyers are expected to be aware of and follow international and domestic laws in regards to products restricted or banned from purchase or sale in certain countries.
  • Certain electronics products have import and export restrictions. Sellers are expected to follow all international and domestic laws and regulations.
  • All sellers and buyers are expected to list, buy and sell within international and domestic laws effecting their products and transactions.

Product categories:

  • Please list your products in the appropriate category. The selection is made in your control panel when adding or editing a product. Each product may have a separate category and will show up in the directory of products in that category. 
  • If you cannot find a category that fits your product(s) please contact support and we will be happy to suggest or add one for you.

 

If there is any question at all about your listing please contact customer support and we will let you know of any restrictions on the site and what we may require for you to list your product on OT

 

Important:

OTE is a global showcase of products and restrictions, laws and regulations vary from country to country. Those laws may or may not restrict you listing your products on the site. Sales are not done on the site and OTE bears no responsibility for transactions between sellers and buyers. We verify that a seller and a buyer are legitimate businesse in regards to credentials submitted at registration. OTE does not participate in, negotiate, manage or in any way facilitate any sales. OTE only provides the platform and tools for buyers and sellers to connect and establish transactions between themselves. Buyers and sellers are solely responsible to follow all domestic and international laws, regulations and restrictions effecting the listing, sale or purchase of products listed on the OTE website.
